I got fascinated with making glass 25 years ago. This series is the next step from the small pieces. They were a very important steps in order to get to this level. Some of these larger pieces have rolling around inside me for a lot of years. This is stuff I've had to do. I had no idea how to get there.. Five years ago I started sand casting but I had to wait until I got the big kiln in my studio in order to do these larger pieces. Now I kiln cast. |
I've had this piece of stone for two years. Every time I walked by it I thought, "I'll get to you someday." I knew immediately it was going to be the figure of a woman before I bought it. I liked the stone and I liked the color of the stone, it's a very feminine soft pink. It's going to be a lovely female torso. | |
